I think, if people take Tony Abbot seriously, I cannot take them seriously. Here is a man who wants to drag us back into the 1950s with his xenophobia, homophobia and general conservatism. His policies are little more than catch phrases, he has serious anger management issues, and when he says he’s all about bringing the budget back to surplus, what he really means is he’s all about giving corporations free reign to rob us blind, and giving tax breaks to the wealthy. Not to mention, he says shit like ‘stop the boats!’ which blatantly dehumanises refugees, is an affront to humanity, and is the kind of thing which stirs up overly patriotic and openly racist behaviour. It’s dangerous.
